From the Abstract: Cheap energy, good health and a safe, clean environment are compatible, but it requires a complete rethinking about how we define risk. Ever since it became clear that high levels of radiation were potentially lethal, it was accepted as gospel that lethality at low levels was assumed as well. This is called the linear no-threshold (LNT) model where all levels of radiation, no matter how small, contain predictable risk of mortality. This critical assumption has never been tested.
